Farmington River & Tributary Real-Time Monitoring Links
The Farmington Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited supports the use of real-time data to better understand river conditions and protect cold-water fisheries. The links below provide live monitoring information you can use to plan fishing trips, track seasonal changes, and stay informed about river health.
1. Farmington River Water Quality Station (HOBO Sensors)
What it shows:
Real-time water temperature, pH, and conductivity from FVTU-installed sensors.
How to use it:
Check current and recent water temperatures, watch for warming or cooling trends, and understand basic water chemistry conditions that affect trout and aquatic life.

2. USGS – West Branch Farmington River at Riverton
What it shows:
River gage height (water level) and flow trends on the West Branch.
How to use it:
Use this data to assess flows for fishing conditions, wading safety, and changes related to precipitation or dam releases.
3. USGS – Still River at Robertsville
What it shows:
River gage height for the Still River, a major tributary to the Farmington River.
How to use it:
